Since I don't' have a desk I have been really bad about updating my blog...I promise I am going to get better at it...anyway I thought I would give you a quick update on what's going on...
1) I am busy planning our next years ChurchPlanters Conference. It is going to be really neat. We have a lot of cool people coming who are knocking it out of the park...Steve Furtick, Bil Cornelius, Mark Batterson, Shawn Lovejoy, and me just to name a few...I'm actually going to do a pre-conference on Launching Large: Milestones for a Missional Church. We have a bunch of other really cool people coming I will give you an update later....It is going to be another amazing conference.....I should have our conference website up in the next 30 days, so hang in there and plan on sign up for this neat experience scheduled for February 18-19, 2008.
2) I am busy working on my next book, Breaking the Discipleship Code...I may change the title, but anyway I am hard at it...it is going to be a really cool resource you can put in the hand of any Christ followers hand to give them a good handle on what it means to be a Christ follower in today's missional context. You will want to pre-order this book by the thousand.
3) We are working with Visoneering Studios to design our master site and our next building. These guys really get it and they are going to help us connect our campus with those who are disconnected from Christ and the church.
4) I just moved my daughter into her first apartment. It's neat seeing her grow up and go. I'm very proud of her, plus she is living in a neat city and it gives me another place to visit.
5) I heard from my son in Afghanistan. He was just coming down from a mountain observation point where he spent five nights and days with 5 of his closest friends. He was doing really great. I Don't forget to keep our troops in prayer...the incredible price these guys pay allows us to plant the incredible churches we do.
6) Tonight I get to do my favorite thing in the world...hang out with my wife, Tami. She gave me a ceiling fan for Father's Day. She wanted one for our sitting area under our deck. I put it up for her on Saturday...she has really enjoyed it...happy Father's Day honey.
